Use Case Summary

The Customer is a global leader in designing, marketing and manufacturing of food and beverage solutions. The customer has brands which are over 100 years old and sold throughout the world. Customer was facing a significant challenge in the manual creation of Monthly & Weekly Inventory Reports using data extracted from the Epicor application. As the process was mostly manual, customers wanted to automate the process to get ready for future growth.

Current Challenges

The process is mostly manual and involves a team using MS Excel and Email communication as primary communication methodology. As the process is manual, it results in below issues Time-Consuming Process: Manually creating inventory reports is a time-intensive task, especially when dealing with large datasets and complex calculations. Inefficiency: Manual data entry and calculations increase the likelihood of errors such as typos, miscalculations, and data inconsistencies, leading to inaccuracies in the inventory reports. Difficulty in Handling Variability: Manual processes may struggle to adapt to changes in data formats, structures, or reporting requirements. Delayed Reporting: Due to the time-consuming nature of manual processes, there is a potential for delays in generating and distributing inventory reports. Timely decision-making may be hindered as a result.

Solution Implemented

Predikly implemented a Robotic Process Automation solution using Automation Anywhere. The complete process was automated end to end and the bots are scheduled to run on a daily basis including weekends, if required. The implemented solution for client involves the deployment for automated system across all five sites—Fremont (FR), Austin (TX), Orange County (OC), Maine (ME), and Warwick (WW). The automation process is designed to streamline operations related to Application, facilitating the seamless download of four critical reports: Stock Status, Work in Process, Inspection Pending, and In-Transit. These reports are then saved for further processing. Upon downloading the files, the bot seamlessly connects to the Database, where various database operations are executed. The results are stored systematically in the Output folder as an output file, ensuring structured and accessible storage of processed data. The final step of the automation involves efficient communication. The bot autonomously sends the output files for all five sites as email attachments to the respective team members. This not only enhances the speed and accuracy of information dissemination but also ensures that the relevant stakeholders receive comprehensive and up-to-date data.
